Julia Mendiolea – WMD

Julia Mendiolea

Bio: I grew up in the spacious, quiet desert of Wyoming. I made my way to Denver in 2009 seeking a music community, and graduated from UC Denver with a BS in Guitar Performance and Recording Arts in 2013. Along with being at WMD, I also teach private music lessons, work as a session musician, and volunteer with Girls Rock Denver. I'm currently creating an album of my own, as well as co-writing in a freak folk duo known as Aunt Mercury. You can also find me lounging in the garden with my big orange cat Mingus, taking a ballet class, or exploring the mountains.

Role at WMD: Shipping sound possibilities to a city near you. Soldering them, too.

Favorite Instrument: The Realistic Moog synthesizer my dad has kindly let me "borrow" for years.

Favorite piece of WMD gear: The Geiger Counter Pro is unreal. Digital destruction has never made me feel so at peace with the world. I also really dig the Goldilocks Planet and use it to mold my favorite bass tones!

Random fact: When I was 7, I seriously convinced myself and my closest friends we were aliens from another galaxy. The older I get, the more I know it to be true.
